Boring Self-Care Routines That Keep You on Your "Hot Girl" Journey

“Real hot girl shit,” I say to myself as I put in my retainers and grab my weighted eye mask at 8:30 PM.

Self-care isn’t always fun, easy, or exciting.

Self-care may not always leave us feeling our hottest or most attractive in the moment.

But these self-care practices are often the ones that keep us on our hot girl ish for the long run. Some of the most boring self-care routines are the ones that end up being the most important to how we feel and show up.

My boring self-care bedtime routine?
- skin cleansed
- teeth brushed
- retainers in
- weighted eye mask on
- sleep meditation on

My routine can vary depending on the day and how I’m feeling, but these are the ones that remain consistent no matter what.

This same outlook can be applied to STI testing, too. Is it the most fun? Probably not. Is it glamorous? Not usually. But does it keep us informed about our health? Absolutely.
