4 Signs It's Time to Add Sexual Health to Your Self-Care Routine

Do you have a self-care routine? If yes, are you including sexual health?

Here are 4 signs that it’s time to incorporate sexual health into your self-care routine.

1. You can’t remember the last time you had an STI screening

Scheduling your screenings in advance or using an at-home kit can help keep you and your partners informed and educated. Plus - it’s one less thing you have to think about!

2. You hate bringing up testing with partners

Many hate bringing this up because we weren’t taught that we need it in the first place. The more we practice and work to incorporate it into our routines, the easier it will become.

3. You dread your annual OB-GYN visit*

People dread the OBGYN for many reasons. But if you find it’s due to fear of positive STI test results, it’s time to spend time learning (and unlearning) rather than spending time in fear.
Always be sure to ask what STls you’re being tested for and why!

*NOTE: this post is specifically speaking due to fear of STIs and STI results.

4. You don’t know what you want in bed

It can be easy to fall into routines with partners and favorite vibes. But if you feel yourself in a funk, or that you’d rather acquiesce to your partners’ needs, it might be time to reevaluate the routine. Pleasure is a part of sexual health, too.
