Subtle Signs You're Working Through a Herpes Diagnosis

a few subtle signs that you are working through your herpes diagnosis (that you may not realize or consider as “progress” 😊) Immediate thoughts following diagnosis often reflect society’s long-held beliefs around herpes stigma. Here are a few subtle signs that you’re working through those beliefs and feelings:

You’ve confided in someone (a friend, a therapist, a partner, etc.) You don’t look at your future sexual experiences and relationships with doom, and instead become curious about what they might look like. How do I disclose? When are the best times to disclose? How can we have safer, pleasurable encounters?

You begin to see pieces of yourself reflect back. Maybe you’re not quiet full yet, but you’re consciously working toward that.

You know that there are good days and bad days, and you work with them. You know that today might be a bad day, but it’s not a place you’re going to live.

These are just a few that were notable to me. Experiences that are not listed here do not mean that you’re journey is any less valid. I see you no matter what stage you’re at💗. Even following my page is a small step for some. And to that small step, I am so happy to be included on your journey.
