You Don't Need to Follow a "Herpes Friendly" Diet
You don’t need to follow a “herpes friendly” diet.
In many folks’ quests to gain control over their herpes diagnosis, they find themselves nestled between marketed myths versus facts. While it’s true that some foods may trigger someone’s outbreaks (e.g., alcohol), there is not enough evidence to prove its applicability to all people living with herpes.
If someone is prescribing a “herpes diet” or recommending you remove joy from your dietary intake or life simplv because vou have herpes-they are promoting herpes/STI stigma and diet culture, and, further, harming your mental and emotional wellbeing in the process.
As always, please do your research about someone’s credentials prior to taking any advice (clinical, nutritional, or otherwise).
Have you been approached by someone to start a “natural” diet to control herpes? Or have you come across similar programs online? Let me know in the comments below. More on this topic soon.
