Top Reasons People Follow Sex Educators on Instagram: Your Responses

Last week I asked you, “Why do you follow sex educators on Instagram?”

I grouped your responses into categories, and these were the top eight:

• Absence/lack of sex education in school

•Current sex educator seeking additional resources

•Seeking resources after positive herpes diagnosis

•Desire to learn more and decrease shame

•Better understanding of self

•Dating someone with herpes

•Aspiring sex educator

•Find community

None of these were exactly surprising, but I was happy to see numerous responses that emphasized seeking community on a deeper level. Thank you for continuing to help me (and others!) guide and support your unlearning process, as well as foster connection.
