Herpes Myths: Masks and Toilet Seats Aren’t the Culprits

Just another day busting myths about herpes. Your mask didn’t give you herpes, and neither did the toilet seat.

There are certainly parallels that we can draw between COVID and HSV, but I can’t say that I expected them to cross paths in this way.

Herpes is contracted through skin-to-skin contact. You didn’t get it from your mask, and you didn’t get it from the toilet seat, either. There is no object or person to blame or shame (I’ll speak more to this soon). Herpes is arguably part of the human experience.
