Bingo for Comprehensive Sex Education: Key Indicators and Concepts

Everyone loves a good bingo game🥳

I thought it would be helpful to share a handful of indicators that one received/is receiving a comprehensive sex education when it comes to STIs. This also may be valuable for sex educators.

I, like many, didn’t receive a comprehensive sex education. I spent much of my early twenties unlearning and learning my sex education. A process that we all participate in throughout our lives.

I specifically kept statistics out of this post because I want to speak to larger concepts rather than minute details of a lesson plan. Most of these lead into discussions (wow? Really? Prove it!) that allow space to share data, research, and stories.

A few blocks I’d like to highlight:
•Condoms reduce the likelihood of STIs that transmit through skin-to-skin (Yes, you can use a condom and still get an STI, as condoms don’t cover ALL of the skin around the genitals).

•Disclosure is mutual. (Society presents disclosure as a one-way conversation with sexual partners, but everyone has something to share beyond an STI status.)

•You can get an STI in any kind of relationship (check my latest posts on herpes and monogamy!)
