Why Seeking Revenge After a Herpes Diagnosis Can Be Harmful

Remember when Samantha Jones found out that Richard was cheating on her? She pasted pink photos of his face with the word CHEATER above him all over the city.

I loved it.

But here’s why that approach doesn’t work for herpes — It’s really *not* as simple as tracing it to the last person you hooked up with.

We all know that an STI diagnosis, like herpes, can come with a loooot of emotional baggage and shame. I understand and empathize with the anger and reaction of playing the blame-game, but in most cases (again, MOST cases), it’s challenging— if not impossible— to figure out exactly when and where your herpes originated.
