Coping with Rejection After Disclosing Your Herpes Status: Shifting Perspectives

Maybe you’re somewhere in between. Maybe it depends on the day, the week, or what else you have going on in your life. It’s likely that your experience and acceptance will shift.

How we respond to a partner’s rejection after sharing a positive herpes status is a reflection of our beliefs about people with herpes and, ultimately, ourselves.

Rejection is not a desired experience for anyone, however, it is a part of the human experience.

We cannot eliminate rejection, but we can work to shift our response.
