Finding Balance: Navigating Relationships and Pleasure with Herpes

In sexual relationships where at least one partner has herpes, there is often such a focus on “not transmitting herpes” that it’s easy for the experience of pleasure to be pushed aside.

My post earlier today offers some questions for self-reflection related to navigating dating and sex with herpes.

Where does the focus fall, and what does it mean when it comes to your internal processing of stigma and self? Does that match the relationships you envision and what you know your worth to be? Could you shift your questions to allow space for pleasure, or are you someone who is stuck in an anxiety loop?
