It creeps into daily table talk. Herpes-linked topics make their way into daily discussions, even at the dinner table or on the way to pick up the kids. (E.g., “Are you absolutely sure you’re not having an outbreak?)

You feel like herpes talk is the only common thread in your relationship. It feels like the only thing in common between you and your partner(s) is anxiety around herpes transmission. It’s difficult to find joy in previously shared hobbies.

You feel like they’re obsessed about potential outbreaks. Lack of trust between partners about informing of there is a symptomatic outbreak. Partner may monitor antiviral use or scan body for symptoms.
