Here's Why People Aren't Talking About Their STI Status

Dating 🤝Talking about your STI status with your partners. So why aren’t people talking about it?

Here are a few reasons why people *aren’t* talking about their STI status:

🌟 It’s “awkward” and “embarrassing” (because that’s what society has trained us to think)

⭐️They don’t know their status and are afraid to get tested

🌟They don’t have access to the resources they need to get tested.

⭐️ They don’t know how to bring it up

🌟They’re afraid of rejection

Regardless of why people aren’t talking about their status, it is critical for informed consent with partners, as well as building communication and trust (even if it is just a one-time thing).
