90% of US Americans Reported Sex Education Experiences That Failed Them

90% of US Americans report sex education experiences that fell short of what they needed.

The 2023 survey, conducted by Mira, a fertility and hormonal health clinic, shared the findings from its 1500 respondents. Here are a few things to note about the survey:

❌ This is not a formal research study
‼️ While it did ask questions about gender identity and LGBTQ+ fertility (as indicated by some of the answers), the results are binary, divided by responses from men and women.
🍼 This survey was conducted by a fertility clinic, so there are additional questions that focus on the impact of poor education on fertility
🧐 I can’t find 1) the actual makeup of the population surveyed or 2) the full panel of questions asked

Despite the above, cautionary notes, this remains important feedback about the public’s feelings around sex ed (which is why I’m still bringing it up here)

I know I feel disappointed by my education experiences in middle school (I recently came across the “In God’s Image: Male and Female” packet 🫣.
