Navigating Nondisclosure of Herpes: Understanding the Impact and Moving Forward
About a year ago, I made a post that addressed what happens if you fail to disclose your herpes status with a partner.
Despite how much educators can teach the importance of disclosure, the reality is, for a variety of reasons, nondisclosure is still something that happens.
The original post received a heated response and was actually when I decided to turn comments off as a personal boundary due to the nature of what was said about me. It was the first time in having a public presence that I cried.
I share this because I believe that failure on my behalf as an educator to address nondisclosure further allows it to occur without remedy. For clarity, I am not excusing nondisclosure.
My goal in refreshing this post and topic is to reach more people who may genuinely not know what to do or how to move forward after nondisclosure.
